Weiner. Cecil Weiner was one of the first managers of the Jewish Welfare Society and later its president. She trained as a lawyer in the 1890s and was one of the first two women to graduate in the same class at the University at Buffalo. She worked as a social worker before appointment as a Judge. She wrote numerous reports in order to increase social welfare funding and was described as “the woman who can always add one more hour to the twenty-four” so that someone in need might benefit.
